Determination of Migration Amount of Fluorescent Whitening Agents in Tissue Paper in Simulated Body Fluid
This study investigated the migration of fluorescent whitening agents from tissue paper into simulated body fluids and water using these as extractants.Standard solutions were prepared using the fluorescent whitening agent VBL as a reference material, and standard curves were plotted. The maximum absorption wavelength of VBL was determined to be 348 nm using UV spectrophotometry. The study developed and evaluated the detection methods for fluorescent whitening agents in five different solutions:artificial acidic sweat, artificial alkaline sweat, artificial urine, artificial saliva, and water. The methods demonstrated high correlation coefficients(R²>0.999),detection limits ranged from 0.43 to 0.98 μg/g,recoveries exceeded 80%,and the relative standard deviations(RSDs)for precision were all below 10%.The UV spectrophotometric method established for the quantitative analysis of the fluorescent brightener VBL was found to be straightforward, practical, and accurate.
