Stratigraphic delineation and characterization of stratigraphic sequences in the Liujiang basin of Qinhuangdao
The stratigraphy developed in the Liujiang basin of Qinhuangdao is representative of the north China Plateau, and the outcrops are complete. For the sake of clarity the development, evolution, and distribution of stratigraphic sequences in the Liujiang basin of Qinhuangdao, and to provide a geological basis for the study of stratigraphy in the Liujiang basin, this paper summarizes the rock types, delineation of the lithofacies and stratigraphic characterization of the study area based on the theory of Vail lithostratigraphy, and utilizes the geological data of field outcrops and stratigraphic profiles. We conduct the research on the recognition of lithostratigraphic interfaces, the delineation of lithofacies, and the study of lithofacies characterization in the study area, with the aim of providing geological references for the study of the north China Plateau's evolution.
