Analysis of the Current Situation and Influencing Factors of Mobile Phone Addiction Among Medical Students
Exploring the current situation and influencing factors of mobile phone addiction among contemporary medical students is of great significance.A total of 2088 college students were randomly selected from a medical college in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from September to October 2021,and an on-site questionnaire survey was conducted using the General Situation Survey and Mobile Addiction Index(MPAI).The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference(P<0.05)between being an only child, family economic situation, and stress during the medical education process.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that there was a statistical correlation between only child(OR=1.384,95%CI:1.122-1.707),family economic status(OR:0.632-0.642,95%CI:0.441-0.933),and stress during the medical process(OR:0.537-0.554,95%CI:0.315-0.975)and mobile phone addiction among medical students. Conclusion The smartphone addiction rate of college students in a medical college in Xinjiang is at a moderate level.Solving the problem of mobile phone addiction among medical students requires the joint efforts of schools, families, and individuals to effectively reduce their dependence on mobile phones and promote their comprehensive physical and mental health development.
