Analysis of the Sensitivity and Economic Correlation between Building Envelope System and Energy Consumption
Located in the tropics, the Maldives faces high cooling demands and energy consumption in buildings, effective passive energy consumption design is crucial. This study, based on the energy optimization problem of the Velana International Airport Terminal(VIA)project in the Maldives, analyzes the mechanisms of passive design parameters such as building orientation, aspect ratio, building envelope parameters, external shading systems, and window-to-wall ratio using the EnergyPlus simulation software,it examines their quantitative relationships and explores multi-condition optimization solutions for building energy consumption based on the relationship between building cost and energy consumption. This research aids in selecting building maintenance systems in tropical areas, enhancing overall energy efficiency, and identifying optimal energy consumption design combinations.
