Isoflurane Reversibly Inhibits Glucose Uptake in Astrocytes in the Short Term
To investigate the effects of isoflurane reperfusion on glucose uptake in astrocytes.Cultured rat astrocytes were exposed with 2%isoflurane for 6h,then reperfused for 24h,48h or 72h to observe the morphological and the cell activity of astrocytes.Using 6-NBDG to detect the glucose absorption.Using RT-PCR to detect the glucose transporters GLuT1 mRNA levels.Isoflurane reperfusion have no effect on the morphology and cell activity of astrocytes.Isoflurane reperfusion inhibited glucose uptake and GLuT1 expression at 24h but not 48h and 72h.Isoflurane may inhibit glucose transporters transport expression, resulting in impaired glucose uptake, but it can be reversed in the short term.
