Applications of computational biology in RNA research
In the realm of non-coding RNA(ncRNA)research,computational biology plays a pivotal role.As an interdisciplinary field that leverages computational science techniques to probe and comprehend biological phenomena,computational biology is instrumental in elucidating the diverse functions and widespread biological involvement of ncRNAs,a class of RNA molecules characterized by their vast numbers and multifunctionality.This review summarizes common algorithms and tools in RNA computational biology,with a focus on applications of expert system,machine learning,and deep learning to ncRNA identification,ncRNA target prediction,RNA modification,RNA secondary structure detection,RNA-protein interaction and RNA functional prediction.
