Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is a chronic progressive liver disease characterized by excessive intrahepatic fat deposition, affecting about a quarter of the global population.Epidemiological studies have shown that 25%of NAFLD patients have cardiovascular disease(CVD),and CVD is one of the leading causes of death in these subjects, but it has not attracted enough attention.A comprehensive understanding of the association between NAFLD and CVD is critical important to improve the clinical prognosis and survival of patients. In this review,we systemically review the relationship between NAFLD and CVD risk factors and the effect of comprehensive intervention of NAFLD on the risk of CVD,which is beneficial for clinicians to identify the risk of CVD in patients with NAFLD early and adopt preventive measures to improve the poor cardiovascular prognosis.
