Faced with the complex entrepreneurial environment, the entrepreneurial calling,as a strong personal intrinsic motivation provides, provides an explanation for whether entrepreneurs continue to persist in entrepreneurship. However, the entrepreneurial calling has two sides in influencing entrepreneurs'entrepreneurial attitudes and behaviors.Based on this, this study explores the double-edged sword effect of entrepreneurial calling on entrepreneurial persistence using 333 entrepreneurs'data from two time points based on self-determination theory. The results show that entrepreneurial calling can not only enhance entrepreneurs'feedback-seeking behavior, promote entrepreneurial persistence, but also activate their emotional rumination and hinder entrepreneurial persistence.Emotional intelligence negatively moderates the relationship between entrepreneurial calling and emotional rumination as well as the mediating role of emotional rumination.Howerver, the moderating effect on the relationship between entrepreneurial calling and feedback-seeking behavior as well as the mediating role of feedback-seeking is not significant. The study confirms the double-edged sword effect of entrepreneurial calling on entrepreneurial persistence, providing theoretical reference and practical inspiration for entrepreneurs to correctly utilize the effectiveness of entrepreneurial calling in the entrepreneurship process.
