Observation on the effect of stone needle moxibustion combined with Chinese ointment on senile diabetic lower extremity neuropathy
Objective To study the therapeutic effect of stone needle moxibustion combined with Chinese ointment on senile dia-betic lower extremity neuropathy.Methods Elderly patients with diabetes mellitus and lower extremity neuropathy admitted to the Endocrinology Department of Beijing Daxing District Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital from September 2021 to September 2022 were selected as the study objects,and were divided into the control group and the experimental group with 30 cases each according to random number table method.The control group was treated with conventional treatment(blood glucose control plus Lipoic acid and Mecobalamine).On the basis of conventional treatment,the treatment group was treated with TCM exter-nal treatment of stone needle and moxibustion combined with Chinese ointment and moxibustion for one week.The curative effect was observed after one course of treatment.The curative effect of TCM syndrome,the motor and sensory conduction speed of median and common nerve,and the TCSS score of the two groups were compared.Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was sig-nificantly higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,MNCV and SNCV of median nerve and common peroneal nerve in the treatment group were improved better than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The TCSS score after treatment was significantly lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Stone needle moxibustion combined with Chinese ointment in the treatment of senile diabetic lower extremity neuropathy has the following effects:warming channels,promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis,regulating qi and promoting blood circulation,dispelling cold and dispelling wind,nourishing nerves and improving microcirculation.
