Effect of diaphragmatic breathing combined with lumbar stability training on chronic non-specific low back pain
Objective To investigate the effects of diaphragmatic breathing combined with lumbar stability training on pain de-gree,lumbar function and quality of life in patients with chronic non-specific low back pain. Methods Sixty patients with chronic non-specific low back pain admitted from June 2022 to September 2023 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group, with 30 cases in each group. Both groups of patients underwent lumbar stability train-ing,while the experimental group underwent diaphragmatic breathing training on this basis. It was performed at baseline,4 weeks after treatment, and 8 weeks after treatment Visual analogue Scale(VAS),Oswestry Disability Index(ODI),lumbar curvature range and Health Survey Summary Form(SF-36)were evaluated. Results Compared with before treatment,VAS,ODI,lumbar flexion range and SF-36 in both groups significantly improved after treatment(P<0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment, the experimental group showed more significant improvement.Except for SF-36,there was no significant difference in energy, emotional function and mental health dimensions(P>0.05),all other indicators showed significant differences(P<0.05).At 8 weeks of treatment,VAS,ODI,lumbar flexion range,SF-36 showed significant improvement(P<0.05).Conclusion Diaphragmatic breathing training on the basis of lumbar stability training can significantly improve the lumbar pain and lumbar function in patients with chronic non-specific low back pain, and improve the quality of life.
