Literature reviewed on the treatment of depression in patients with knee osteoarthritis
Knee osteoarthritis(KO A)is one of the common orthopedic Diseases.The clinical manifestations are snapping,swell-ing,pain,and poor psychological state of the knee joint.Studies have shown that patients with KOA have a poor psychological state and often manifest themselves as depressed.It often presents with depressive mood.The main clinical feature is a marked and persis-tent depression.In severe cases,suicidal thoughts or behaviors may occur.This has a detrimental effect on the physical and mental health of patients.This paper summarizes relevant literature to introduced the epidemiology of KOA patients and comorbid depressive mood and the relationship between depressive mood and pain in patients.This paper reviewed the current status of the treatment of depressive mood in patients with KOA.Firstly,the methods of direct treatment of depression were introduced from the aspects of exer-cise therapy,cognitive behavioral therapy,drug therapy,and psychotherapy.Secondly,the methods of indirect treatment of depression were introduced from the aspects of exercise therapy,drug therapy and other new drug treatments.This paper reveals the idea that there is a two-way link and a strong co-occurrence relationship between pain and depression in patients with KOA.Whether it is the direct treatment of depression in patients with KOA,or the indirect treatment of depression in patients with KOA through pain re-lief.This can effectively improve the patient's psychological state and pain level.Through the above methods,the level of two-way connection between the two can be effectively reduced.This is conducive to the physical and mental health of KOA patients and the recovery of functional levels.
