Research progression of laser-assisted surgery for primary angle-closure glaucoma
Primary angle closure glaucoma(PACG)is a type of irreversible blinding disease that has a significant impact on patients'vision. In China, the common surgical approaches for PACG include ultrasound phacoemulsification combined with trabecu-lectomy(phaco-trabeculectomy)and ultrasound phacoemulsification combined with angle adhesion separation. This article provides an overview of the principles, clinical applications, efficacy, and characteristics of laser-assisted phacoemulsification combined with angle adhesion separation for the treatment of primary angle closure glaucoma with cataracts.By reviewing the literature and reviewing the findings, laser therapy as an important method for prevention and treatment of PACG,offers advantages such as simplicity,conven-ience,and speed. The combination of laser therapy with phacoemulsification and angle adhesion separation has shown better efficacy in relieving pupil blockage and restoring normal anatomical structure of the anterior chamber in PACG patients with cataracts.
