The effect of continuous care based on IKAP theory on self-management behavior and quality of life of stroke patients
Objective To explore the effect of continuous care under the Information-Knowledge-Belief-Behavior(IKAP)theory on self-management behavior and quality of life of stroke patients.Methods A total of 72 inpatients with stroke in the Department of Neurology of The Second Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from January 2022 to July 2022 were selected as the study subjects,and 36 patients were randomly selected as the observation group for continuous care under the IKAP theory,and the remai-ning 36 patients were the control group for routine care.The self-management ability of the two groups were compared,and the chan-ges of self-management behavior and quality of life of the two groups before and after the intervention were analyzed.Results After three months of intervention,there was no significant change in the self-management behavior score of the control group,the self-man-agement behavior score of the observation group was significantly improved,and the total scores of daily life management,rehabilita-tion exercise management,resource utilization management and self-management behavior of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05),the total score of quality of life in both groups were improved,the score of quality of life di-mension in the control group was significantly improved,and the total score of physical fitness,language,mobility,self-care,social role,thinking,upper limb function,visual acuity and other dimensions and quality of life in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Healthcare professionals can improve the self-management behavior and quality of life of stroke patients through the IKAP theory,and reduce the recurrence rate of stroke patients,so as to help patients better return to society.
