Summary of the best evidence for home care of the disabled elderly
Objective To select,obtain and summarize the related evidence of home care for disabled elderly,to provide a refer-ence for effective long-term home care for disabled elderly.Methods We searched Chinese and English databases and websites sys-tematically by using"6S"evidence model.The search period is from January 10,2024.Two researchers independently evaluated the included literature and extracted the literature that met the criteria to form the best evidence summary.Results This study finally included 8 literatures,including 2 guidelines,4 expert consensus and 2 systematic reviews,and summarized 27 pieces of best evi-dence from 4 aspects:daily care,home exercise management,home nutrition management,external support of home care for disabled elderly.Conclusion Home care is very important to meet the needs of disabled elderly and improve the quality of life.This study summarized the best evidence of home care for disabled elderly,and provided evidence support for caregivers such as family members to carry out long-term home care for disabled elderly,and also provided evidence-based practical basis for informal caregivers in com-munity nursing homes,nursing homes and other long-term care institutions.
