Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of bamboo circle moxibustion with salt and ginger in treating lumbar disc herniation(LDH) with wind-cold dampness-stagnation type.Methods 105 LDH patients treated at Ganzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from May 2023 to April 2024 were selected as the research subjects and divided into observation group,control group 1,and control group 2,with 35 patients in each group,according to random number table.The observation group was treated with bamboo circle moxibustion with salt and ginger,control group 1 was treated with bamboo circle moxibustion with salt,and control group 2 was treated with bamboo circle moxibustion with ginger.The clinical efficacy,pain level,lumbar spine function,and lumbar dysfunction among the three groups were compared.Results The total treatment effective rate of the observation group(97.14％) was higher than that of control group 1(68.57％) and control group 2(71.43％).After treatment,the visual analog scale (VAS) score was(1.98±0.69) points,and the Quebec Back pain disability scale(QBPDS) score was(33.17±6.94) points,which were lower than(2.80±0.75) points,(38.94±8.13) points of control group 1,(2.83±0.74) points,and(38.51±8.09) points of control group 2.The modified Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA) score was(22.58±3.01) points,which was higher than(19.86±2.81) points of control group 1,and(20.13±2.90) points of control group 2,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);There was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05) in the total effective rate,VAS score,JOA score,and QBPDS score between control group 1 and control group 2 after treatment. Conclusion Bamboo circle moxibustion with salt and ginger has a better clinical effect on treating LDH with wind-cold dampness-stagnation type,which can improve patients' symptoms of lower back and leg pain,alleviate lower back dysfunction,and improve patients' lower back mobility.
