Clinical study on the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy with plum-blossom needle group acupoint pricking combined with fixed-point rotation reduction method
Objective To analyze the effect of plum-blossom needle group acupoint pricking combined with fixed-point rotation reduction method on the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy and its impact on patient pain and electromyography. Methods 103 patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy were included in the clinical data of Luoyang Orthopedic Hospital in Henan Province from April 2021 to April 2024.They were grouped according to the treatment plans, including 34 cases treated with rotation reduction method as the reduction group,34 cases treated with plum-blossom needle group acupoint pricking method as the pricking group, and 35 cases treated with rotation reduction combined with plum-blossom needle group acupoint pricking method as the combination group. The treatment efficacy,disease-related scores([neck disability index[NDI]score, clinical assessment scale for cervical spondylosis[CASCS]score, visual analog scale[VAS]score),electromyographic indicators, and cervical spine range of motion among the three groups were compared. Results After 4 weeks of treatment, the cure rate of the combination group was 80.00%,which was higher than 52.94% of the reduction group and 55.88% of the pricking group(P<0.05);After 4 weeks of treatment, the combination group had lower NDI and VAS scores than the reduction group and the pricking group, and higher CASCS scores than the reduction group and pricking group(P<0.05);After 4 weeks of treatment, the latency of the median nerve and axillary nerve in the combination group was lower than that in the reduction group and the pricking group, and the motor conduction velocity was higher than that in the reduction group and the pricking group(P<0.05);After 4 weeks of treatment, the range of motion for cervical lateral flexion, forward flexion, and backward extension was higher than that in the reduction group and pricking group(P<0.05). Conclusion The treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy with plum-blossom needle group acupoint pricking combined with fixed-point rotation reduction can improve the cure rate, correct cervical function, restore cervical mobility, improve nerve conduction function, and increase neuromotor conduction velocity.
