Application of silver needles combined with meridian walking and cupping method in traditional Chinese medicine nursing of patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy
Objective To explore the application effect of silver needles combined with meridian walking and cupping method in traditional Chinese medicine nursing of patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy(CSR). Methods 108 CSR patients admitted to Wuqiang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Sanmenxia from March 2022 to February 2024 were divided into control group 1,control group 2,and combination group in a 1:1:1 ratio using random number table, with 36 patients in each group. All patients received routine basic nursing care.On this basis, control group 1 received traditional Chinese medicine nursing with silver needles, control group 2 received traditional Chinese medicine nursing with meridian walking and cupping method, and the combination group received traditional Chinese medicine nursing with silver needles combined with meridian walking and cupping method. The nursing observation lasted for 4 weeks. The pain visual analog scale(VAS) scores, cervical range of motion, degree of disease change (clinical assessment scale for cervical spondylosis[CASCS]score, neck disability index[NDI]),and adverse reactions in the three groups were compared. Results After 2 and 4 weeks of intervention, the VAS scores of the combination group were lower than those of control group 1 and control group 2(P<0.05);After 4 weeks of intervention, the range of motion for cervical flexion, extension, left and right rotation in the combination group was higher than that in control group 1 and control group 2(P<0.05);After 4 weeks of intervention, the CASCS score of the combination group was higher than that of control group 1 and control group 2,and the NDI score was lower than that of control group 1 and control group 2(P<0.05);The incidence of adverse reactions in the combination group was 13.89%,which showed no difference of statistical significance compared to 8.33% in control group 1 and 11.11% in control group 2(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of silver needles and meridian walking and cupping method in traditional Chinese medicine nursing interventions can significantly improve the pain level and cervical mobility of CSR patients, promote disease recovery, and have high safety.
