An Experimental Study on Waste Disposal of A Low-grade Manganese Ore
A study on mineralogy and pre-concentration experiments was conducted on a low-grade manganese ore to examine the impact of different pre-concentration equipment such as jigs, intelligent visual ore sorting machines, intelligent ray ore sorting machines, belt permanent magnetic separation pre-concentration machines and high gradient magnetic separation dry pre-concentration machines on the pre-concentration effect of manganese ore.The results show that the ore is a low-grade manganese ore and Mn content is 7.32%.Mn mineral is mainly pyrolusite with a distribution rate of 61.99%.We know that the use of jigging sorting machines, intelligent visual sorting machines and high gradient magnetic separation dry throwing machines cannot effectively pre-concentration the ore.The use of belt permanent magnetic separation pre-concentration machines can remove tailings with a yield of 63.32%and a grade of 5.81%.At this time, the magnetic field strength of belt permanent magnetic separation pre-concentration machines is 1 T,the selected particle size is-2.36 mm,the outlet width is 3 cm and the belt speed is 5 cm/s.High grade manganese concentrates with a Mn grade of 17.47%and an recovery of 18.89%can be directly obtained using a ray sorting machine.
