Geological Characteristics and Metallogenic Regularity of the Manganese(iron)Metallogenic Belt in Mazong Mountain Area,Southern Margin of Central Asia Orogenic Belt
A study was conducted on the classification of genesis types and spatiotemporal evolution laws of manganese deposits in Mazongshan manganese mineralization belt, exploring the geological conditions and spatiotemporal evolution laws of manganese deposits in Mazongshan area. The research area is located in the eastern section of the Kuquan-Yushishan-Dahongshan-Mazongshan manganese ore belt in the northern mountainous area of Gansu Province. It is distributed in a nearly east-west direction, with an east-west length of about 270 km and a north-south width of 20~60 km.The manganese ore belt is divided into three sub ore belts:northern, central and southern.North Asian ore belt mostly belongs to sedimentary metamorphic hydrothermal manganese deposits. The Central Asian ore belt mostly belongs to sedimentary modified manganese deposits, and South Asian ore belt mostly belongs to hydrothermal manganese deposits.Gutongjing group of Changcheng system in the area is the important manganese bearing rock series, among which the marble of the Dahuoluoshan Formation of the Jixian system has higher manganese content. The manganese bearing strata are composed of sand shale, shale mixed with manganese bearing limestone, manganese bearing siliceous rocks and other lithological combinations. In studying and dividing the mineralization belt into different tectonic magmatic and sedimentary mineralization series during the Jinning period,Caledonian period,Hualixi period, and Indosinian Yanshan period,a mineralization model for the Kuquan-Yushishan-Dahongshan-Mazongshan manganese ore belt was established in providing relevant references for the exploration of mineral deposits in the region.
