Weathering reduces the strength of rock, which in turn leads to a great decline in the mechanical properties of slope rock mass. Therefore, the high and steep slopes of open-pit mines are mainly lightly weathered rock mass, while the slopes dominated by moderately weathered rock mass are usually designed gently, and the height is mostly 30~50m.In this paper, the stability of an ultra-thick moderately weathered high-steep slope in a molybdenum mine site with good integrity is studied, and the slope safety factor under the effects of blasting vibrations is calculated by the limit equilibrium method, and the slope parameters are optimized according to the calculation results, which provides technical support for the next design. The results show that the slope stability is mainly affected by two factors:rock strength and rock mass integrity. If the development of joints and cracks in the deep moderately weathered layer is reduced, the rock mass integrity is improved, and the slope stability is also improved. The ultra-thick moderately weathered layer with good integrity can also be designed as a high and steep slope.
