Objective To assess the hard tissue changes caused by Class II in the patients treated with Forsus appliance during early permanent dentition. Methods A total of 13 adolescent patients,6 males and 7 females.aged 10.5 years (range 10-13) with class II malocclusion were selected from Department of orthodontics,Affiliated Liaoning Medical University of them.Cephalonetric analysis was used to compare the changes before and after treatment. Results The skeletal changes consisted of the increase in SNB and ANB. Dental alterations comprised retrusion of the upper incisors and labial tipping of the lower incisors. Conclusion Forsus functional appliance possesses the orthopedic effect on Angle II malocclusion.when repositioning the mandible forward and improving the growth of mandib, it creates the force to limit maxillary growth forward as well.Simultaneously it causes the changes of dento-alveolar.All these aspects contribute to a harmonious relationship of upper and lower jaws and a better profile.
