Research Progress on the Application and Mechanism of Platelet-rich Plasma in Refractory Pressure Injury
Pressure injury(PI)is a necrotic injury caused by localized ischemia and hypoxia of the skin or underlying tissues induced either by pressure alone or pressure alone or by a combination of pressure-shear forces, and in severe cases can develop into a refractory pressure injury. With the aggravation of global aging, refractory pressure injuries have become a major health problem worldwide, consuming significant healthcare resources and posing a huge challenge to healthcare professionals.Platelet-rich plasma(PRP)is platelet-rich plasma that is isolated and concentrated by centrifugation from whole blood.PRP is rich in growth factors and active proteins, which can promote cell proliferation and differentiation as well as tissue repair. This article discusses the progress and mechanism of action of platelet-rich plasma in refractory pressure wounds, aimed to provide a theoretical basis for its further application in clinical practice.
