Evaluation of Clinical and Aesthetic Effects of Cutaneous Orbicularis Oculi Resection of Lower Eyelid in the Treatment of Congenital Entropion with Trichiasis in Children
Objective To investigate the efficacy and aesthetic effect evaluation of lower eyelid cutaneous orbicularis oculi muscle resection in children with congenital inversion and trichiasis. Methods A total of 80 children with congenital entropion combined with trichiasis admitted to the author's hospital from February 2017 to October 2021 were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated by simple double suture of the orbicularis oculi oculi muscle of the lower eyelid skin, and the observation group was corrected by orbicularis oculi resection of the lower eyelid skin. The clinical efficacy of the two groups at one month after surgery, cornea cylinder(CC)value, total retinography cylinder(RC),best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and aesthetic score at 6 months before and after surgery were compared, and the postoperative complication rate and recurrence rate of the two groups were compared. Results The total clinical effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05)at one month after surgery, and the CC value,RC value and BCVA of the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05)and the aesthetic score was significantly higher than that of the control group at 6 months after surgery(P<0.05),and the postoperative complication rate and recurrence rate in the observation group were significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Lower eyelid cutaneous orbicularis oculi muscle resection can effectively improve the clinical efficacy of congenital inversion combined with trichiasis, improve the visual acuity of children, reduce the morbidity and recurrence rate, and improve the aesthetic effect of eyelids.
