Application of Fixed Orthodontics Combined with Micro-implant Anchorage in the Treatment of Class Ⅱ Malocclusion in Adolescents
Objective To investigate the effect of fixed orthodontics combined with micro-implant anchorage in the treatment of Class Ⅱ malocclusion in adolescents. Methods Eighty-five patients with Class Ⅱ malocclusion treated in the author's hospital from January 2019 to December 2021 were included in the study. They were divided into control group(n=42)and observation group(n=43)according to whether the anchorage nail was used together for planting. The patients in the control group were treated with fixed orthodontic treatment, and the patients in the observation group were treated with fixed orthodontic treatment combined with anchorage nail implantation. The SNA Angle,SNB Angle,GO-GN-SN Angle and OP-SN Angle were compared between the two groups after one year of follow-up.Anterior overjet, overbite, molar occlusion and midline relationship were compared between the two groups. The quality of life of the two groups after treatment was evaluated by SF-36 quality of life scale, and the satisfaction of orthodontic treatment was evaluated by the satisfaction of appearance and function made by hospital. Results After treatment, the value of SNA decreased slightly, and the values of SNB,GO-GN-SN and OP-SN increased slightly in both groups. The value of SNA in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, while the values of SNB,GO-GN-SN and OP-SN in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of anterior overjet, anterior overbite, molar occlusal relationship and midline relationship in both groups were lower than those before treatment, and those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of psychological function, motor function, diet function and physiological function in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the satisfaction scores of appearance, comfort, occlusal function and convenience in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of fixed appliance combined with micro-implant anchorage in adolescent patients with Angle Class Ⅱ malocclusion has a significant effect, which can effectively improve the maxillofacial tissue morphology, reduce the severity of malocclusion, improve the quality of life of patients, and improve patient satisfaction.
