Comparison of the Clinical Application Effect of Pure Titanium Frame and Vitallium 2000 Cast Frame Denture in the Repair of Dentition Defect
Objective To compare the effects of pure titanium stent denture and Vitallium 2000 cast frame denture on the incidence of denture stomatitis in patients with dentition defects. Methods One hundred and sixteen patients with dentition defect admitted to the author's hospital from January 2017 to November 2019 were selected and divided into a pure titanium group and a Vitallium group according to different frame materials,58 cases in each group. After 2 years of repair, the overall efficacy, base plaque distribution, base plaque index, base culture results, denture stomatitis conditions and treatment satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The masticatory efficiency and seating rate in the Vitallium group were higher than those in the pure titanium group(P<0.05).After 2 years of repair, there was no significant difference in the plaque ratio in the base tissue surface area between the two groups(P>0.05),while the base plaque index in the pure titanium group was higher than that in the Vitallium group(P<0.05).The number of colonies of Candida albicans,Streptococcus,Actinomyces and Lactobacillus in the pure titanium group was higher than that in the Vitallium group(P<0.05).The prevalence and severity of denture stomatitis were higher in the pure titanium group than in the Vitallium group(P<0.05).The total satisfaction with treatment in the pure titanium group was lower than that in the Vitallium group(P<0.05).Conclusion Vitallium 2000 as a removable local support material for patients with dentition defects can reduce the occurrence of oral bacterial infection and denture stomatitis with high satisfaction compared with pure titanium material.
