Analysis of the therapeutic Effect of Straight Wire Arch Orthodontics Combined with Occlusal Reconstruction on Patients with Angle's Class Ⅱ Division 2 Accompanied by Severe Wear
Objective To explore the clinical effect and influencing factors of traditional straight wire arch orthodontic technique combined with occlusal reconstruction in the treatment of lingual deep overbite with severe tooth wear. Methods Eighty-two adult patients with lingual deep overbite and severe tooth wear who visited the Department of Stomatology of Cangzhou People's Hospital from January 2018 to December 2021 were selected as the research subjects and randomly divided into experimental group and control group, with 41 cases in each group. The experimental group received traditional straight wire arch orthodontic technique combined with occlusal reconstruction, while the control group received only traditional straight wire arch orthodontic technique. The changes of orthodontic treatment time, temporomandibular joint function, joint space, lower face height and other indicators were compared between the two groups, and the related factors affecting the treatment effect were analyzed. Results The orthodontic treatment time of the experimental group(12.6±1.8)months was significantly shorter than that of the control group(18.4±2.1)months(P<0.05),and the temporomandibular joint function score, joint space, lower face height and other indicators were significantly improved after treatment(P<0.05),and better than the control group(P<0.05).The influencing factors of the treatment effect included age, gender, occlusion type, periodontal health status,etc(P<0.05).Conclusion Traditional straight wire arch orthodontic technique combined with occlusal reconstruction can effectively shorten the orthodontic treatment time, improve the temporomandibular joint function, restore the occlusal height, and improve the quality of life of patients with lingual deep overbite and severe tooth wear. The individual differences and periodontal health status of patients are important factors affecting the treatment effect, and individualized treatment plans should be made according to specific conditions.
