Effect of Longitudinal Track Continuous Care on Periodontal Health and Esthetics of Orthodontic Patients
Objective To investigate the effect of longitudinal track continuous care on periodontal health and esthetics of orthodontic patients. Methods A total of 100 patients who received orthodontic treatment in the Department of Stomatology of author's hospital from June 2014 to June 2022 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into the control group and the observation group by random number method, with 50 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were given routine nursing measures, while patients in the observation group were given longitudinal track continuous nursing intervention on the basis of routine nursing. The periodontal health indicators and aesthetic scores of the two groups were statistically compared. Results After the intervention, the results showed that, the scores of plaque index(PLI),sulcus bleeding index(SBI),probing depth(PD)and gingival index(GI)in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the self-evaluation score and doctor's evaluation score of dental esthetics of patients in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The longitudinal track continuous nursing intervention can urge patients to self-monitor their oral health behaviors, and patients can actively participate in the orthodontic nursing management to improve the periodontal health and beauty.
