Effect Analysis of Modified Musculocutaneous Flap Combined with Orbital Septopexy in Eyelid Plastic Surgery
Objective To explore the application effect of modified musculocutaneous flap combined with orbital septum fixation during pouch plastic surgery and its influence on complications. Methods The clinical data of 53 patients who received traditional musculocutaneous flap for pouch plastic surgery in the author's hospital from July 2020 to June 2022 were retrospectively analyzed and the patients were included in traditional group. The clinical data of 55 patients who underwent modified musculocutaneous flap combined with orbital septum fixation in the author's hospital during the same period were retrospectively analyzed and the patients were enrolled as combined group. The clinical indicators and clinical efficacy[eyelidbag degree score, lower eyelid skin wrinkle(Fitzpatrick wrinkle grading score),lacrimal groove(Barton grading score)]were compared between the two groups, and the satisfaction of patients and occurrence of complications were statistically analyzed. Results The surgical time in combined group was longer than that in traditional group while the recovery time of eye appearance and hospital stay were shorter than those in traditional group(all P<0.05).At 2 months after surgery, the eyelidbag degree score,Fitzpatrick score and Barton score in both groups were decreased compared with those before treatment, and the scores in combined group were lower than those in traditional group(all P<0.05).Postoperative satisfaction of patients in combined group was higher compared with that in traditional group, and the incidence rates of complications were lower than those in traditional group(all P<0.05).Conclusion Modified musculocutaneous flap combined with orbital septum fixation has a significant effect during pouch plastic surgery, and it can promote the postoperative recovery, enhance the patient satisfaction and reduce the occurrence of complications.
