Comparison of Aesthetic Effect between Minimally Invasive Ultra-thin Veneer and All-porcelain Veneer in Repairing Anterior Tooth Space
Objective To compare the aesthetic value of minimally invasive ultra-thin veneer and all-porcelain veneer in the repair of anterior tooth space. Methods The data of patients with anterior tooth space repair admitted to the hospital from May 2018 to April 2022 were retrospectively analyzed, and the patients were divided into 34 cases in observation group(58 teeth, minimally invasive ultra-thin veneer)and 36 cases in control group(62 teeth,all-porcelain veneer)according to different veneer methods. The repair effect after 1 year of repair, periodontal indicators[veneer plaque index(PI),gingival index(GI)]and gingival crevicular fluid inflammatory indicators[matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2),interleukin-1β(IL-1β)]before repair and after 1 month of repair, occurrence of complications and dental aesthetics scores after 1 year of repair were compared between the two groups. Results There were no statistically significant differences in the compliance proportions of tooth surface color, restoration integrity, natural tooth surface edge and translucency between the two groups(P>0.05).After 1 month of repair, the GI and PI were decreased in both groups(P<0.05),but there were no statistical differences between the two groups(P>0.05).The levels of MMP-2 and IL-1β in both groups were increased after 1 month of repair(P<0.05),but there were no statistically significant differences between the two groups(all P>0.05).The incidence rates of complications in observation group were significantly lower compared with those in control group(P<0.05).The dental aesthetics scores(texture, color, labial gingival margin level, soft tissue morphology, alveolar shape, distal and mesial gingival papillae)in observation group were higher than those in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Minimally invasive ultra-thin veneer and all-porcelain veneer are both effective methods in repairing anterior tooth space, but minimally invasive ultra-thin veneer has fewer complications and higher aesthetic value.
