Effect of ADOPT Problem Solving Model on Regenerative Skin Care and Body Image of Patients with Facial and Neck Burns
Objective To investigate the effect of ADOPT[Attitude(A),Definition(D),Open mind(O),Plan(P),Try it out(T)]problem solving model on regenerative skin care and body image of patients with facial and neck burns. Methods Sixty-five patients with facial and neck burns in author's hospital from January 2020 to December 2022 were enrolled, and randomly assigned into two groups.Control group received routine nursing intervention, while observation group was given nursing based on ADOPT problem solving model. The pain score[visual analogue scale(VAS)],scar score[Vancouver scar scale(VSS)],body image scale(BIS)score and negative emotion score[self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),self-rating depression scale(SDS)]were compared between the two groups after intervention(after 1 month of follow-up).Results After 1 month of follow-up,the VAS and VSS scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05),and the image scores of cognitive, emotional and behavioral dimensions,SAS and SDS scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion ADOPT problem-solving model can effectively promote the wound recovery of patients with face and neck burns, reduce the formation of wound scars, and improve the body image and negative emotion level of patients, which is worthy of promotion.
