Surgical Treatment Progress of Congenital Talipes Equinovarus
Congenital talipes equinovarus(CTEV)is a common lower limb deformity in clinical practice.Neonatal period is the best time for treatment of CTEV,and the main clinical manifestations of children are congenital horseshoe deformity, forefoot adduction, hindfoot varus and other symptoms, which seriously affect the foot function. The pathogenesis of CTEV has not been completely clarified, and genetics, abnormal neuromuscular development, abnormal skeletal development and abnormal maternal intrauterine pressure are all pathogenic factors. The surgical treatment methods of CTEV include surgical and non-surgical interventions, which are generally aimed at restoring normal foot shape, improving foot mobility, and reducing residual deformities and recurrence.Non-surgical treatment methods include Ponseti method and French method, and surgical treatment methods mainly include soft tissue release, tendon transfer and bone surgery. This study reviews the epidemiology, etiology, surgical treatment and recurrence of CTEV in order to provide reference for the clinical treatment of CTEV.
