Efficacy of Buccal Mucosal Flap on Odontogenic Oral Maxillary Sinus Fistula Repair and Influence on Oral Function
Objective To observe the efficacy of buccal mucosal flap on the repair of odontogenic oral maxillary sinus fistula and its influence on oral function. Methods 100 patients with odontogenic oral maxillary sinus fistula admitted to the hospital from January 2018 to May 2022 were selected as the study subjects, and were divided into observation group(50 cases)and control group(50 cases)by the randomization method.Maxillary sinus fistula repair was performed in all patients, and buccal mucosal flap was used for postoperative repair in observation group while jaw mucoperiosteal flap was used for repair in control group. The repair effect, inflammatory factors, oral function, aesthetic effect and complications were compared between the two groups. Results Observation group was better than control group in sinusitis cure, maxillary sinus patency and nasal cleaning(P<0.05).Compared with before repair, the levels of gingival creval fluid interleukin-1β(IL-1β),interleukin-6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor(TNF-α)in both groups were decreased after repair, and the levels in observation group were lower compared with those in control group(P<0.05).Compared with before repair, the score of oral health impact scale was declined in both groups after repair, and the score were lower in observation group(P<0.05).Compared with before repair, the scores of soft tissue texture, soft tissue color and marginal gingiva level were increased in both groups after repair, and the scores in observation group were higher than those in control group(P<0.05).The total incidence rate of complication in observation group was lower than that in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with the application of jaw mucoperiosteal flap to close the fistula orifice after maxillary sinus fistula repair, the application of buccal mucosal flap for patients with odontogenic oral maxillary sinus fistula can better improve the efficacy, oral function and aesthetic effect, and reduce the inflammatory factors and postoperative complications, thus the latter one is more suitable for clinical promotion and application.
