Effect of Clown Care on Intervention of Children with Cleft Lip and Palate with Cleft Alveolar Process and Their Caregivers
Objective To explore the effect of clown care on the children with cleft lip and palate with cleft alveolar process and their caregivers. Methods A total of 104 children who received cleft lip and palate surgery with cleft alveolar process in the author's hospital from June 2021 to December 2022 were selected. The control group received perioperative routine nursing, routine telephone follow-up was conducted one month after surgery, and the observation group received intervention plan based on clown care concept. The patients were divided into four stages:from admission to 1 day before surgery, the day of surgery, the day after surgery to discharge, and 1 month after discharge. The pain degree, anxiety, quality of life, occurrence of surgical complications, anxiety of the children and their caregivers after the intervention were evaluated. Results On the 3rd and 5th day after surgery, the pain scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).On the 7th day after surgery, the anxiety scores in the observation group and their families were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the quality of life score in observation group was higher than that in control group(P<0.05).The total complication rate of observation group was lower than that of control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Clown care can effectively reduce the postoperative pain of children with cleft lip and palate combined with alveolar cleft, improve the quality of life of the children, relieve the anxiety of the children and their families, and promote the recovery of the disease.
