Status of Optical Treatment of Pigmented Hairy Epidermal Nevus
The pigmented hairy epidermal nevus, also known as Becker's nevus(BN),is mainly characterized by large areas of brown patches with hypertrichiasis. In addition to the increase of pigment, the thickening of the epidermis and elongated rete ridges is the main pathology characters of BN.The treatment of BN remains challenging.Lasersare the main modalities in the treatment of BN,and the development of new picosecond laser and the combined therapies with different lasers lead to significant improvements in efficacy and less side effects. In this report,we reviewed the progress of BN and its laser treatment,in order to provide better treatment options for clinics.
