Effect of Intense Pulsed Light Combined with Humanoid Collagen Dressing Treatment on the Treatment of Facial Pigmentation and the Change of Related Measurement Indexes
Objective To investigate the effect of intense pulsed light combined with humanoid collagen dressing treatment on the VISIA system pigmentation score, epidermal oil volume, and transepidermal water loss(TEWL)in patients with facial pigmentation. Methods A total of 100 female patients with facial pigmentation admitted to the author's hospital from January 2021 to June 2022 were selected. The patients were randomly assigned into a control group(n=50)and an observation group(n=50).The control group was treated with intense pulsed light therapy, while the observation group received the same therapy combined with humanoid collagen dressings. The therapeutic efficacy,VISIA system pigmentation score, skin barrier function(including changes in epidermal water content, epidermal lipid content, and TEWL),SAS,DLQI scores, and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate in the observation group(88.00%,44/50)was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Compared with the pre-treatment period, the VISIA system pigmentation scores,TEWL,SAS,and DLQI scores were significantly lower, and the epidermal water content and epidermal lipid content were significantly higher in both the observation and control groups after treatment(P<0.05).Furthermore,the VISIA system pigmentation score,TEWL,SAS,and DLQI scores were significantly lower, while the epidermal water content and epidermal lipid content were significantly higher in the observation group compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Intense pulsed light combined with humanoid collagen dressing treatment is effective for facial pigmentation. This combination therapy promotes the regression of facial pigmentation, improves skin barrier function, enhances the quality of life, and has a positive effect on the psychological status of patients, with a high safety profile.
