Effect of Fractional CO2 Laser Combined with 308 nm Excimer Laser in Treating Facial Vitiligo
Objective To explore the value of fractional CO2 laser combined with 308 nm excimer laser on facial aesthetics in patients with facial vitiligo. Methods A total of 108 patients with facial vitiligo admitted to the outpatient department of the author's hospital from March 2020 to February 2023 were selected as the study subjects. The patients were randomly divided into a control group(54 cases)and an observation group(54 cases)according to the odd-even number method. The control group was treated with a 308 nm excimer laser, while the observation group received a combination of fractional CO2 laser and 308 nm excimer laser. The onset time of color recovery, color recovery rate, and efficacy after 12 weeks of treatment, levels of inflammatory factors in the skin lesion zone[interleukin-17(IL-17),interleukin-23(IL-23)],facial aesthetic improvement effect[Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale(GAIS)],quality of life[Dermatology Life Quality Index(DLQI)]before and after 12 weeks of treatment, and the incidence rates of adverse events(local skin erythema, dermatitis, blisters)and recurrence rate within 12 weeks of treatment were compared between the two groups of patients. Results After treatment, the onset time of color recovery in the observation group was significantly shorter than in the control group(P<0.05).The color recovery rate and total effective rate in the observation group after 12 weeks of treatment were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After 12 weeks of treatment, the levels of IL-17 and IL-23 in both groups declined compared to before treatment, with the levels in the observation group being significantly lower than in the control group(P<0.05).The GAIS score in both groups increased after 12 weeks of treatment compared to before treatment, with the score in the observation group being higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The DLQI score in both groups decreased compared to before treatment, with the score in the observation group being lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).During the perioperative period, the incidence rates of adverse reactions and the recurrence rate in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Fractional CO2 laser combined with 308 nm excimer laser demonstrates clear clinical efficacy, promoting skin color recovery, reducing inflammatory response in the skin lesion zone, and improving the facial aesthetics and quality of life of patients, with high safety and effectiveness.
