Application of Superficial Fascia Folding and Tensioning Suture Technique in Circumareolar Mastopexy
Objective To investigate the application and clinical effect of a technique of superficial fascia folding and tensioning in circumareolar mastopexy. Methods Twenty-six patients with moderate breast ptosis diagnosed and treated in the author's department from October 2019 to October 2020 were selected as the research objects.According to the different methods of intraoperative incision suture and closure, they were divided into the traditional group(n=13)and the improved group(n=13).Patients in traditional group were treated with traditional locking purse-string suture, and patients in modified group were treated with superficial fascia folding and tension reduction technique combined with locking purse-string suture. The immediate postoperative incision satisfaction, scar condition[Vancouver scar scale(VSS)],and areola diameter difference between 12 months after operation and immediately after operation were compared between the two groups. Results Immediately after operation, the patients'satisfaction with the incision in the modified group was higher than that in the traditional group(P<0.05).At 12 months after operation, the VSS score of the modified group was lower than that of the traditional group(P<0.05),and the enlargement of areola in the modified group was lower than that in the traditional group(P<0.05).Conclusion The superficial fascia folding and tensioning suture technique proposed in this study can obtain more smooth and beautiful incision matching in circumareolar mastopexy, and reduce postoperative scar and areola enlargement to a certain extent, which has good clinical effect.
