Clinical and Aesthetic Effects Observation of Parotidectomy Under Modified Inverted V-shaped Incision
Objective To explore the clinical and aesthetic effects of improved inverted V-shaped crease-resistant incision in parotidectomy. Methods A total of 60 patients with parotid tumor admitted to the author's hospital from October 2016 to October 2019 were selected as the research objects.According to the random number table method, they were divided into the observation group and the control group, with 30 cases in each group. The control group underwent parotidectomy with conventional S-shaped incision, while the observation group underwent parotidectomy with improved inverted V-shaped crease-resistant incision. The operation time, drainage volume on the day after operation, intraoperative blood loss, hospitalization time, length of surgical incision, postoperative aesthetic effect[Vancouver scar scale(VSS),patient scar appraise scale(PSAS),observer scar assessment scale(OSAS)],quality of life(Washington medical university quality of life scale),and the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results The length of surgical incision in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).At 3 and 6 months after operation, the VSS,PSAS,and OSAS scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).At 6 months after operation, the scores of appearance and expression in the observation group were lower than those before operation, but higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The postoperative scores of pain, mobility, recreation, shoulder function, work, chewing, and language clarity in the two groups were lower than those before operation(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The modified inverted V-shaped crease-resistant incision can obviously improve the postoperative aesthetics of patients with parotid tumor resection, and has higher safety and higher clinical value.
