Progressive hemifacial atrophy is a chronic atrophic disease that often affects one side of the face.The etiology is complex and unclear.It has a certain self-limiting nature,a long course of disease,obvious changes in facial appearance,and great psychological pressure on patients.There is no radical cure for the disease,and the main treatment depends on plastic surgery repair and reconstruction.However,the treatment methods have advantages and disadvantages,and most patients are difficult to obtain satisfactory results after one treatment.This article reviews the research status of progressive hemifacial atrophy in recent years.
