Analysis of Factors Influencing the Severity of Post-acne Lesions
Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the factors associated with the severity of post-acne lesions. Methods Patients with post-acne lesions who attended the dermatology outpatient clinic of Dongzhimen Hospital from October 2023 to December 2023 were selected as study subjects, and information on general condition, relevant medical history, lifestyle, and dermatological special examination was collected by questionnaire.One-way analysis, multiple linear regression and correlation analysis were used to evaluate the relationship between the above factors and the severity of post-acne lesions. Results A total of 110 eligible patients were included in this study, and multiple linear regression showed significant correlations between frequency of face washing and severity of post-acne hyperpigmentation;between distribution of posterior lesions on the jaw and severity of post-acne erythema;and between distribution of posterior lesions on the temporal area, pin clearing,make-up and first-degree relatives with atrophic scar remaining after acne healing and severity of atrophic scar.correlation(all P<0.05).There was a significant correlation between the distribution of residual lesions on the temporal area, pin clearing,make-up and first-degree relatives with residual atrophic scarring after acne healing and the severity of atrophic scarring in the patients themselves(all P<0.05).Conclusion The severity of post-acne hyperpigmentation is influenced by the frequency of face washing. The severity of post-acne erythema severity was influenced by site of distribution and frequency of coffee consumption. The severity of atrophic scar was influenced by longer duration of acne, previous needling treatments, frequency of make-up application,first-degree relatives with atrophic scarring remaining after acne healing, and site of distribution.
