Comparison of Resin Layered Anterior Tooth Restoration and All-ceramic Restoration in Aesthetic Restoration of Anterior Tooth Defects
Objective Exploring the effects and aesthetic value of composite resin layered anterior tooth restoration and all ceramic restoration after anterior tooth defect repair. Methods Using a case-control study,120 patients with anterior tooth defects admitted to the dental outpatient department of Hospital of Stomatology,Xi'an Jiaotong University from March 2021 to March 2023 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into Group A and Group B,with 60 patients in each group.Group A patients received composite resin layered anterior tooth restoration, while Group B received all ceramic restoration for anterior tooth defects. The aesthetic effects of the two groups of patients at 6 and 12 months after restoration were compared Differences in gingival bleeding index, periodontal probing depth, and pathogen detection rate in subgingival plaque specimens. Results After 6 and 12 months of treatment, the proportion of patients in Group B with marginal fitness, color matching effect, restoration fixation effect, restoration edge staining, and gingival health grade A according to the USPHS scoring standard was significantly higher than that in Group A,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After 6 and 12 months of treatment, the gingival bleeding index and periodontal probing depth of Group B patients were lower than those of Group A patients, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After 12 months of treatment, the detection rates of prevotella intermedia and Forsythiaceae in the subgingival plaque of Group B patients were not statistically significant compared to Group A patients(P>0.05).The detection rates of Porphyromonas gingivalis,Fusobacterium nucleatum, and Actinobacterium actinomycetes in Group B were lower than those in Group A,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After 12 months of treatment, the overall effect of Group B was better than Group A(P<0.05).Conclusion Both composite resin layered anterior tooth restoration and all ceramic restoration can achieve good results after anterior tooth defect restoration, but all ceramic restoration is more conducive to improving the aesthetic effect of restoration, reducing periodontal damage after restoration, and overall achieving better results.
