The utilization status,supply and demand pattern,and development trend of global coal resources
Based on the systematic exposition of the utilization of coal resources in major economies around the world,the utilization status,supply and demand pattern,and development trend of global coal resources were presented from a broad perspective in this paper.Research results show that the total global energy consumption continues to rise,with coal consumption,production,and coal-fired power generation reaching historic highs,and China,India,and Southeast Asian countries account for 75％of the total global coal resource consumption;global coal production has continued to rebound significantly since 2020 with increasing coal supply capacity,and China,India,Australia,Indonesia,the United States,and Russia rank among the top coal producers;global coal-fired power generation accounts for 36％of the total electricity generation,making it the largest source of electricity in the world.The global coal resource supply and demand show a basic situation of sustained prosperity in the short to medium term and gradual decline in the long term,and the global coal trading center continues to move eastward,and the Asia Pacific region is the most active center for global coal trade;emerging economies such as China and India have a huge demand for energy as they undertake the transfer of global industrial chains;Indonesia,Australia,Russia,Mongolia and other countries have become the main exporters of coal.With the gradual consensus on the global energy transformation direction of"clean energy utilization process,low-carbon energy utilization types,and renewable energy acquisition methods",the clean,efficient,and low-carbon utilization of coal has become an important trend.Coal remains an important global energy resource and a key force supporting energy transformation.In the future,coal will continue to play an important role as an important raw material.
