Research on the reasonable width of coal pillar in fully mechanized caving mining section in extra-thick coal seam
In order to improve the mining rate and ensure the stability of the roadway surrounding rock,the reasonable remaining width of sectional coal pillar is a crucial factor in the process of working face mining.Taking the coal pillar remaining of fully mechanized mining face section in No.2 panel of a certain mine in northwest mining area as the engineering background,the theoretical calculation results showed that the remaining width of the sectional coal pillar was 8.96-9.96 m.The deformation of surrounding rocks and the vertical stress distribution of coal pillars of mining roadways under the influence of sectional coal pillar with different widths during the mining process were studied through numerical simulation.The research results showed that remaining coal pillar with over 10 m width could effectively reduce the deformation of roadway surrounding rock,and the 10 m width coal pillar could maintain its own stability,effectively support the roof and floor,and protect the roadway.
