With the transformation of China's economy from high-speed development to high-quality development,R&D input,patent output and high-quality economic development are more and more closely related.In the era of knowledge economy,how to maximize the contribution of R&D input and patent output to high-quality economic development has become the focus of current theoretical research.By constructing the panel vector autoregressive(PVAR)model of Shandong Province from 2005 to 2020,the relationship between them is empirically tested.There is a big contrast between the research results and the cognition of traditional concepts and the economic status of Shandong Province,that is,whether from the static model or the dynamic model,the R&D input and patent output efficiency of Shandong Province have not effectively played a positive role in promoting the high-quality economic development.Therefore,Shandong Province needs to formulate and improve the supporting system strategies of R&D input,patent output and talent reserve according to local conditions,so as to give full play to the potential role of R&D input and patent output in regional high-quality economic development and provide experience and reference for other regional economic development.
