A Study on the Configuration and Path of Factors Influencing the Transformation of Manufacturing Industry's Servitization
Based on the TOE theoretical framework, this study takes the service-oriented transformation of 31 provincial-level manufacturing industries in mainland China as a case study, and uses the method of combining NCA and QCA to explore the linkage effect and driving mode of technology, organization, and environmental conditions on the service-oriented transformation of the manufacturing industry.Research has found that:A single condition cannot constitute a necessary condition for a high level of service-oriented transformation, but industrial policies and digital technology play a more universal role in generating a high level of service-oriented transformation. There are three equivalent models of high transformation level in the service-oriented manufacturing industry, namely the technology environment model composed of digital technology and industrial policy, the environment model composed of industrial policy and changes in customer demand, the balance model with digital technology and industrial policy as the core conditions, and technology diffusion strength, organizational strategic transformation, talent construction, and industry competition as auxiliary conditions. The role of industrial policies in service-oriented transformation is crucial,as they all appear as core conditions in the three configurations of high transformation levels, and non high transformation level configurations include non high industrial policies.
