The Impact of Digital Inclusion Finance Development on Urban-Rural Income Gap in Shandong Province
Based on the panel data of 16 prefecture-level cities in Shandong Province from 2011 to 2020,this paper empirically explores the impact of the development of digital inclusive finance on the urban-rural income gap in Shandong Province. The results show that:the development of digital inclusive finance significantly reduces the urban-rural income gap;The results of threshold regression analysis show that there is a single threshold for the impact of digital financial inclusion on urban-rural income gap.Heterogeneity analysis shows that the three dimensions of digital financial inclusion have different impacts on the urban-rural income gap.Among them, the use depth has the greatest influence, followed by the coverage breadth, and the digitization degree is the least.Digital inclusive finance can significantly reduce the urban-rural income gap in northern and central Shandong, but in southern Shandong,it aggravates the urban-rural income gap,but has no significant impact on Jiaodong. From the perspective of intermediary transmission mechanism, the strengthening of government support for agriculture will help digital inclusive finance better shorten the urban-rural income gap. Finally, the paper puts forward targeted policy suggestions from three aspects.
