Technical standards are an important part of the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry,but also a"double-edged sword".This research is based on micro data of Chinese manufacturing enterprises from 2000 to 2013,to examine the impact of technical standards on the export of Chinese manufacturing enterprises.Research has found that,on average,technical standards have a significant promoting effect,which is conducive to the"increase the quantity and quality"of manufacturing enterprises'exports;and the technical standards having a more significant impact on the"increase the quantity and quality"of exports from developed regions and low tech enterprises.At the same time,it was also found that there is an inverted U-shaped relationship between technical standards and the export.With the continuous expansion of the scale of technical standards,their effect on the"increase the quantity and quality"of manufacturing enterprise exports gradually weakens.Further analysis indicates that technical standards can affect the quantity and quality of manufacturing enterprise exports by influencing technological innovation and entry and exit of enterprises.
