Numerical Simulation Analysis and Research on the Stability of Open-Pit Slopes from Open-Pit to Underground Mining
A certain metal mine originally used open-pit mining, but with the gradual depletion of open-pit mining resources,it has now switched to underground mining.Considering that underground mining will inevitably have a certain impact on the stability of open-pit slopes. The design preserves a width of 50 meters on one side of the final open-pit slope to ensure the stability of the final open-pit slope.Using a combination of numerical calculation and strength reduction methods, three representative profile lines were selected to establish a slope calculation mod-el.Stability calculations were conducted on the open-pit slope models under three different working conditions:the original state of the slope, the open-pit mining method, and the filling mining method, and the stability of the slope under corresponding working conditions was determined. Finally,it was found that when using a filling material with a strength not less than 1 MPa for mining calculation, the safety factors of the three typical slopes were all greater than 1.15,indicating a stable state. The research results have certain reference value for the safe and efficient min-ing of tungsten mines and other metal mines from open-pit to underground.
