Geological Characteristics and Genetic Analysis of Nickel-Molybdenum-Vanadium Ore in Zhengjiawan Mining Area,Western Hunan
The black rock series is extensively distributed in Zhengjiawan mining area of western Hunan and consti-tutes the ore-bearing rock series for nickel-molybdenum-vanadium deposits. This paper conducts a comprehensive field geological survey and indoor analysis on the Zhengjiawan mining area to elucidate the geological characteristics of the nickel-molybdenum-vanadium ore body. The findings indicate the presence of vanadium and molybdenum(nickel, vanadium)deposits in the lower part of Cambrian Niutitang Formation in Zhengjiawan mining area. The vanadium ore deposits are predominantly situated in the southern region of the mining area and are scarce in the northern region. The thickness of the ore bodies remains relatively consistent, with the primary ore being vanadium-bearing illite. The average grade for V2O5 is 0.83%.The molybdenum(nickel, vanadium)ore deposit is exclu-sively situated in the northern section of the mining region. It exhibits a consistent thickness and possesses a diverse composition of minerals. The mean grades of molybdenum(Mo),nickel(Ni),and vanadium pentoxide(V2O5)in the ore deposit are 0.15%,0.12%,and 0.52%,respectively.The vanadium and molybdenum(nickel,vana-dium)deposits in Zhengjiawan mining area are the result of both biological mineralization and hydrothermal miner-alization.However,further research and investigation are required to determine the exact mineralization model.
