Geological Characteristics and Prospecting Criteria of Gold Deposit in Eastern Yaodong Mountain,Qinghai
Eastern Yaodong Mountain gold deposit located in the middle section of East Kunlun Mountains,in a complex structural belt sandwiched between the Kunzhong Fault and the Kunnan Fault. On the basis of previous geological and mineral exploration work, this study conducted trenching, drilling, and sample testing analysis to investigate the geological conditions and genesis of Eastern Yaodong Mountain gold deposit. It is found that the mineralization type of the Eastern Yaodong Mountain deposit is a tectonic altered rock type gold deposit related to tectonic and hydrothermal activity. In terms of prospecting criteria, sericite phyllite and meta-feldspar quartz sandstone in the lower Halabayigou Formation of Ordovician-silurian nacitai group are the main prospecting horizon for gold in this area, brittle faults are found as the main prospecting criteria, and the gold ore bodies mainly occur in the brittle faults superimposed on the ductile shear zone pyrite mineralization, silicification and limonite mineralization are closely related to mineralization. The higher the content of pyrite, the stronger the silicification, the more favorable to mineralization. In terms of prospecting indicators, the lower sec-tion of the Harabayigou Formation in the Ordovician Silurian Nachitai Group is mainly composed of sericite phyllite and plagioclase quartz sandstone, which are the main prospecting layers for gold; The discovery of brittle fractures as the main prospecting indicator in the area indicates that gold deposits mainly occur in brittle fractures superimposed on ductile shear zones; The concentrated distribution area of surface quartz veins is the main prospecting indicator;Huangtie mineralization, silicification, and limonitization are closely re-lated to mineralization, and often the higher the content of pyrite and the stronger the silicification, the more favorable it is for minerali-zation.
